Mountains. When one hears the word "Nepal", its hard not to think of mountains. The home of the highest mountains on earth, it is a climber's and hiker's paradise.
People. The people of Nepal are some of the friendliest, most helpful people that you'll find anywhere. A lot of our trekking was in fairly remote regions, and we'd often travel for a week or more without meeting anyone else. I enjoyed meeting these people in the more remote villages and photographing them.
Kids. I'm not a great photographer of children, but I had more success here than I do back home. Most were eager to meet us and posed very willingly.
The Trek. Our trekking route took us from Trisuli Bazaar to the Langtang, over the Ganja La, into the Helambu, to the Gosaikund Lakes, and finally back to Kathmandu. We were on the trail for approximately 4 weeks, and in all that time we only met one other trekking group - sometimes, even villages were a week apart. We got to a maximum altitude of slightly over 17,000 ft. The worst day (at least for me) was going from 12,000 to 17,000 ft - a continuous uphill battle. I slept well that night.
Miscellaneous Pretty Pictures. This is a miscellaneous collection of images that I enjoyed taking, and enjoy looking at every now and then. They bring back many fond memories. |
