Arizona. When I think of Arizona, I think of the Sonoran Desert and cactus. Of course, there's a lot more.
California. California, home of the Mojave Desert, Joshua trees, some pretty big mountains, sand dunes and a whole heck of a lot more.
Utah. Its always difficult to choose a favourite location (how does one choose one's favourite beer?), but Utah has to rank very near the top. The sheer variety, the magnificence, the colours, all contribute to an unforgettable experience. I've been to the "biggies" - Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands, Arches - and I certainly hope to experience many other regions in subsequent trips.
Sand Dunes. When people think of deserts, they also think of sand dunes. Although dunes occupy only a fraction of the desert landscape, they are some of the most dramatic and photogenic features. I've photographed dunes in Arizona, California, and Colorado. These are some of the ones that I've enjoyed the most.
Odds & Ends. This section contains a number of images from a variety of locations - I often drive back roads just looking for something interesting. |
